The High School Science series begins with Chemistry, Biology, and Physics. Students can explore interactive, online content designed with real-world and game-like visualizations of labs, experiments, and more. High School Science provides five primary types of science Activity Objects or lessons: 1. Concept Development 2. Real-World Experiments 3. 3D Simulations 4. Dynamic Modeling 5. Math in Science
The HHMI virtual labs are fully interactive biomedical laboratory simulations and include a bacterial identification lab, a cardiology lab, a neurophysiology lab and a virtual ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay), using human antibodies to diagnose disease. Lab topics: * Transgenic Fly Lab * Bacterial Identification * Cardiology * Neurophysiology * Immunology * Lizard Evolution *Stickleback Evolution. Bacterial Identification is also available as an iPad app.
AC Science provides teachers with an instructional solution that promotes science mastery through dynamic, interactive learning. AC Science was developed as a digital solution to take full advantage of the online environment and instructional tools such as interactive whiteboards. AC Science contains:
Expert Space is a digital learning environment for science and social studies content. Includes multiple reading scaffolds to ensure that all students can access content. All articles are leveled according to the Lexile Framework of Reading. Spanish translations and read-aloud tools are also available.
Classworks is a web-based instructional software that provides interactive lessons, customized learning and assessment in K-12 Math, Reading, and Language Arts. Elementary Science lessons are also available. Classworks units are based on state standards and offer interactive instruction through a multi-sensory approach that includes voice, pop-up text, audio support, video, photographs, artist drawings, and animated clips. The multiple modalities may be helpful for those with limited English proficiency or learning disabilities, or as a Response to Intervention.
